Every wedding day has that moment where something didn't go according to plan. For me, I realized right before I was supposed to walk out that I didn't have my wife-to-be's wedding band and I had to drive with my Dad to go get it. We started 15 minutes late but it didn't matter because at the end of the day we were still married and very happy. Most everyone deals with something like this on their wedding day in varying degrees of severity. This is Kyle and Melissa's story!Read More
It's fun living in a small town and working with locals, because chances are you have crossed paths with them numerous times. I didn't grow up with either of them, but I met Mitch and Haley when they were dating and both working at a local restaurant that my wife and I went to pretty regularly. They became very close to us and it was a lot of fun to watch their relationship grow. Mitch even told me when he got the ring and planned to propose, so it's an honor to get to document their lives through my photos. We decided to take a stroll around The Market Common in Myrtle Beach for a few photos before their big day. Click through to see all the photos!Read More

Stephanie and Mike had a beautiful ceremony on North Beach Plantation's ocean front property with their family and friends while Wayne Cockfield helped set the romantic atmosphere with his jazz guitar styling. I think my favorite part of the ceremony though was when their family came together in prayer. It was beautiful to see a family circle around and enter into a wedding all with open hearts and love.Read More
I grew up in Conway, South Carolina and maybe it's just the southerner in me, but I love hometown church weddings. I find them so elegant and meaningful to the couple. It's pretty awesome to get married in the same church you grew up in. That was the case here for Tamara and Zach who had a beautiful June wedding with all of their friends and family.Read More

Laura and Jason's springtime ceremony was the perfect use of everything that Wildberry Farm has to offer. With a lovely pond-side ceremony and barn reception, the made the most of the beautiful weather. I think one of my favorite things about their decor were all of the floral arrangements; it just all spoke so much and made everything so lively. The southern charm used around everything from the meal to the croquet outside was just elegant in an inviting way that made the day just that much more specialRead More
Trisha and Pat's wedding day was so much fun for everyone involved. Having the ceremony in Holden Beach and then the reception at the Brick Landing Plantation, made for a wonderful array of scenery for the entire day. It's interesting, and very enticing for beach weddings, that the ceremony site on the beach there is a good distance from the water and in between dunes to allow less wind to disrupt and still allow for plenty of seated guests. What a beautiful day that I was honored to be a part of!Read More
Wildberry Farm is so much fun for both portrait sessions and weddings. There are so few venues in the Myrtle Beach area that provide so many different types of places for inspiration in one location! From a luxurious loft apartment to wooded nature walks to the beautiful barn reception hall. One of my absolute favorite things on property is this beautifully placed swing right outside of the loft! With all the amazing places around the Wildberry property, my client Shannon wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery for her bridal portrait session.Read More
One of the most popular and ever growing trends in Myrtle Beach destination weddings is the small intimate gatherings at ocean front beach houses. It is an awesome way to cut down unnecessary cost and focus on the things that really matter to you. For Trish and Ryan, with only a small amount of guests, it was important to have something that fit perfectly just for them. with a gorgeous beach wedding and intimate reception, I think they everything turned out splendidly.
Even with storm clouds rolling in, it was a beautiful night filled with fun, laughter and even a dip in the pool. Enjoy!

Nothing makes me happier than working with couples. I love to see people that love each other. I guess that's what makes me suited so well for my job! With this beautiful destination wedding, Shelly and James travelled with their family down from Michigan to enjoy the beautiful weather in Myrtle Beach for their nuptials. It was so much fun to see Shelly prepare with her family and even an impromptu footrace in her dress down the hall with her son! These are the types of moments I love to capture.

I don't get out to shoot street photography nearly as often as I would like to, but it's a real treat to get out in the middle of people enjoying whatever it is that's going on. During times like Halloween make it even more fun, because everyone is out for a spectacle and you very rarely any other time year run into so many people who are trying to get their photo taken.Read More
Please watch the video first.
My family has been through some tough stuff, rain and flooding being pretty high on the list. Never thought we would have to go through it again though. I explain most everything in the video but I wanted to add something.
Please be very careful with your words. This is more than just house. It's memories, and hard work and a place where I spent 20 years of my life. 20 years! So before you ask about flood insurance or say that you would just tear it down and move or make some tired joke about lake front property, think about the fact that it's more than 4 walls and a roof. It's a big part of people's lives. Unless you have dealt with something similar, you have no idea what type of heartache that comes with losing a home. So before you comment on someone's photo status or retweet that photo, have compassion for those that are losing their possessions.

Weddings are always a treat for me. Seriously, when someone asks me what it's like to be a photographer for a living my answer is always "It's the best job in the world". I get to be a part of a HUGE memory for two people. This is the day that they promise themselves to each other. FOREVER. And they wanted me to be a part of that. It truly is one of the biggest honors in the world. One of the only things that makes it even better, is being able to photograph the wedding of a friend.Read More
In a small beach town on the coast of South Carolina, a small but powerful thing was invented. Just a little jig that was referred to as "The Bop" or Swing or Jive that would eventually evolve into something of it's own. The Carolina Shag. A simple dance known for it's origins in the swing-time era but with a more relaxed feel. A more down to earth movement that could be done anywhere from sawdust covered floors of the local honky-tonks to the remnants of low tide right on the shore of the Grand Strand. Before the civil rights movement and integration of races in South Carolina, North Myrtle Beach was neighbored by Atlantic Beach where people of color were limited to enjoy the ocean with only about a half mile stretch of beach.Read More
Trisha + Pat, two newly engaged Myrtle Beach visitors, wanted their engagement photos to portray themselves in a place they enjoyed: the Market Common. This location has proven to be simple, yet diverse in all that it has to offer. Having little to no setup time, the Market Common is packed with photography gold, ranging from modern colorblocked walls to the natural serenity of Valor Park. On top of that, shots of warm brick, walls of ivy, column-and-lattice walkways, and flowing fountains offer stunning backdrops to couples of every kind, for any occasion. Located very near Surfside and Murrells Inlet, Trisha + Pat felt right at home in one of their favorite destinations nestled in the heart of the Grand Strand.Read More
