So, though I know most proms are a little earlier in the year, certain schools (like my sister's) have theirs very close to the end of the school year. I went to the same school and we always had our Spring Banquet in the first week or two of May. I really like this time of year and it is always so beautiful in South Carolina. Well my sister and her boyfriend were on their way to Prom and I had them stop to meet me and snap a few shots before they were wrapped in evening's events.
I stumbled across an area not even 100 yards from the clubhouse where they would be going, and decided this would be the area I want to use. It was on one of the Fairways of a very swanky private golf course. We hurried down this little gravel and dirt path that I'm sure was used for landscaping or maintenance carts serving the course. The grass was lush and the trees beautiful but the sun decided to stop hiding behind the clouds and became quite bright outside.
I really enjoyed this shoot and not just because it was my sister. I got a little nostalgic and it made me think about how cool it is to have photos for Prom different than what everyone else gets. Jillian and Josh met at the pre-determined place that is tradition for Prom photos with their friends and family and then they had another chance to get a different set of photos that are a different flavor than what everyone else was able to get.
Here is a taste of the shoot, you can see more on my Facebook Page
