I love networking with people in my trade. It's wonderful to spend some time with like minded people who understand the struggles of the business and who appreciate the geeky talk about gear that we all either openly or secretly love. Gaining friends in this industry in necessary to properly grow. I love photo groups and meeting new people and those networking groups and events really have helped make new friends.
I met Feuza a few months back she was in need of a wide-angle lens. She is originally from Brazil By way of New Jersey and is growing her business here in Myrtle Beach. She is a very keen eye and a beautiful romantic style her clients just love. She recently was in need of promotional material for her trip to Brazil where she will be teaching SEO for photographers in an Internet live stream very similar to creative live but in Portuguese.
We met downtown in Conway, South Carolina which is well known for it’s rustic American charm and beautiful historic downtown area. She was in need of a few head shots and environmental shots, so we walked down to the Riverwalk under the main street bridge where we took a few photos on the walkways and near the water against the Jerry Cox warehouse right on the bank of the river. We shot a little film through my Mamiya 645 Super as well as my Nikon D600 for digital photos that she'll be able to use to promote the class.
It was a lot of fun directing someone who makes their living directing others. It really is a hard thing for a photographer to jump in front of the lens but she was a superstar! I’m proud to have taken them and to call her a friend!
