Laura and Jason's springtime ceremony was the perfect use of everything that Wildberry Farm has to offer. With a lovely pond-side ceremony and barn reception, the made the most of the beautiful weather. I think one of my favorite things about their decor were all of the floral arrangements; it just all spoke so much and made everything so lively. The southern charm used around everything from the meal to the croquet outside was just elegant in an inviting way that made the day just that much more specialRead More
Trisha and Pat's wedding day was so much fun for everyone involved. Having the ceremony in Holden Beach and then the reception at the Brick Landing Plantation, made for a wonderful array of scenery for the entire day. It's interesting, and very enticing for beach weddings, that the ceremony site on the beach there is a good distance from the water and in between dunes to allow less wind to disrupt and still allow for plenty of seated guests. What a beautiful day that I was honored to be a part of!Read More
In a small beach town on the coast of South Carolina, a small but powerful thing was invented. Just a little jig that was referred to as "The Bop" or Swing or Jive that would eventually evolve into something of it's own. The Carolina Shag. A simple dance known for it's origins in the swing-time era but with a more relaxed feel. A more down to earth movement that could be done anywhere from sawdust covered floors of the local honky-tonks to the remnants of low tide right on the shore of the Grand Strand. Before the civil rights movement and integration of races in South Carolina, North Myrtle Beach was neighbored by Atlantic Beach where people of color were limited to enjoy the ocean with only about a half mile stretch of beach.Read More
This North Myrtle Beach bridal portrait session was simply magical! The beautiful scenery at The Surf Club made for an amazing evening as golden hour set in.
Heather found her dress at David’s Bridal and her grandmother made the beautiful flower arrangement for her bouquet. Heather and her fiancé Chris were also married at the Surf Club months later for a gorgeous spring ceremony over looking the golf course and ponds.
If you are looking for an amazing location in the North Myrtle Beach area, I highly suggest this wonderful venue!
Lowcountry weddings are always special to me. Don't really know why I am so encapsulated by it, but there is something about the mixture between the inlet, beach life and southern hospitality that makes me feel at home. One place that is a wonderful example of what the lowcountry has to offer, is Pawleys Plantation. With a wonderfully appointed reception hall and accompanying rooms, it's perfect for almost any size wedding.

I love networking with people in my trade. It's wonderful to spend some time with like minded people who understand the struggles of the business and who appreciate the geeky talk about gear that we all either openly or secretly love. Gaining friends in this industry in necessary to properly grow. I love photo groups and meeting new people and those networking groups and events really have helped make new friends.Read More
Everyone has a favorite place to stay in Myrtle Beach for vacation. Well Ocean Lakes is a place many call their favorite destination place when coming down on vacation. It's a gated community that allows the interior to be safe from traffic coming through as well as enjoying their private beach and family friendly facilities. Above all else though, many people enjoy time down on their own miniature version of the famed Myrtle Beach Boulevard. The preferred mode of transportation is golf carts and after dark every night, they all line up to play their music and have a good time riding around. Being a family friendly resort, nothing ever gets out of hand because there are just as many parents and small children as there are young adults and teenagers.Read More
Engagement photos are some of my favorite things in the whole world to shoot. I know that almost any blog post on a photographer's website could start that way but let me explain why:
I love engagement sessions because it's so easy to see the love between two people. I don't just mean the love that you see plastered all over bridal magazines and Pinterest, I mean the personal, hilarious and quirky love that every single couple shares, but is unique to every pair. I know that my wife and I have little things that make us crack up with a single word and every couple I have had the opportunity to shoot has always had something between them that you can just tell that no one else in the world knows.Read More
